WWWAAAGGGHHHH!!!!!!

So, I am looking to just play a 'fun' army. What could be more fun than Orks? No real tactics there, just run 80 screaming Orcs at the enemy and let the Gobbos plink at them from the flanks.

Dustin is really wanting to play the Lizards and I'm tempted to let him have them. I think they would be a good starter army for him.

The list Im looking at looks like this:

General:
Black Orc Warboss (Lho'kar Blacktusk)
Heavy Armour
Martog's Best Basha
Enchanted Shield
Effigy of Mork
Bigged's Kickin' Boots

(He's there to bash heads. With this set-up he has WS 8, ST 6, Int 5, and 5 attacks. Will stick him in with the Black Orcs)

Orc Big Boss (Battle Standard Bearer)
Choppa
Light Armour
War banner

(Sticking him with the Big'uns. Unlike the Lizards, I'll need a BSB for re-rolls))

Orc Shaman - Level 2 Upgrade
Choppa
Dispel Scroll
Power Stone

(Not sure where to place him. Possible I might place him on a boar as well. Otherwise, he'll run behind the Black Orcs)

Goblin Shaman
Hand Weapon
Goblin Wolf Chariot
Dispel Scroll
Dispel Scroll

(Scroll caddy, then hopefully be able to set him up for a flank charge with the chariot)

5 Goblin Wolf Riders
Musician
Short Bows
Spears

5 Goblin Wolf Riders
Musician
Short Bows
Spears

(Run around shooting things and doing flank charges when needed)

5 Forest Goblin Spider Riders
Musician
Short Bow
Spear
Shield

(Almost the same as the wolves, only I plan on using them to hunt war machines and lone casters, etc...)

25 Orc boys
Full command
Extra hand weapon
Shields

25 Orc boys
Full command
Extra hand weapon
Shields

24 Big'uns Orc Boys
Full Command
Extra hand weapon
Shields
Magic banner - Mork's spirit totem (adds dispell dice equal to ranks)

(These three are the heart of the army. I've heard different opinions as to whether they need shields or not.)

19 Black Orcs
Full Command
Shields
Magic Banner - Gork's Waaagh banner (Adds D6 to charge movement - 1 use)

3 Goblin Spear Chukkas

1 Goblin Rock Lobber

2250pts
5 casting dice
4 dispell dice (+4 for banner)
3 Dispell scrolls

2250
5 casting dice
4 Dispell dice

  1. Shouldn't that be rock "lobba"?

I think that the Orks do sound like a fun army to play with, so they sound like they'll be a blast. PLUS, I think Orks are one of those armies that you can convert a lot and have a good bit of fun assembling, as well as painting them.

I think the best thing about having kids would be being able to "give" one army to one of them so you are able to start a new army. I wonder if I can give my Space Pups to one of the dogs so I can start a new 40k army...

    Jwolf says:

I would take a Boar and Iron Gob (Killing Blow) on the Warboss. If you don't take the Boar, at least get the Killing Blow; this is one of the few scary things you can have.

Orcs can be a very frustrating army to deal with; the Animosity rolls can turn your evening of fun into an evening of answering domestic disturbance calls...
